🎓 Educational Qualification (as on 01.08.2026)

  • Must have passed 12th Standard (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2026 are also eligible, but must produce proof of passing at time of document verification.
  • Stenography skills are mandatory (skill test will be conducted).

Note: Transcription will be done on computer. Candidates opting Hindi in skill test will have to learn English stenography after appointment (and vice versa).

📝 How to Apply – Online Process

  • First, complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on SSC new website https://ssc.gov.in.
  • After OTR, log in and apply for “Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination 2026”.
  • Live Photograph Capture: Photo will be taken live via webcam / SSC mobile app (no pre-existing photo allowed). Ensure light background, frontal view, no cap/glasses.
  • Upload scanned signature (10-20 KB, JPEG, dimension approx 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
  • Choose post preferences (Grade C, Grade D, or both).
  • Select three exam centres in order of priority.
  • Pay fee (if applicable) online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit card.
  • Submit form and take printout.
  • Correction window available on 20-21 May 2026 with correction charges (₹200 first time, ₹500 second time).
Important: Candidates who do not wish to use Aadhaar authentication can upload name proof, DOB proof, address proof, photo and gender proof during OTR. Otherwise, Aadhaar based authentication is recommended.

⚠️ Important Instructions (As per Official Notice)

  • Vacancies are tentative and may change. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM as per Govt. rules.
  • Only online applications accepted. No need to send hard copy to SSC.
  • Multiple applications by same candidate will lead to rejection.
  • Name, parent’s name, date of birth must match Matriculation certificate exactly.
  • PwBD candidates can avail scribe and compensatory time (20 min per hour) as per para 7 of notice.
  • Skill test is mandatory and qualifying; final merit based on CBT marks.
  • Selected candidates have All India Service Liability (AISL).
  • Proxy attendance, unfair means, impersonation will lead to debarment as per rules.
