• Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
• Candidates belonging to Freedom Fighter dependents, Ex‑Servicemen, Outstanding Sportspersons, and Women candidates will pay fee as per their original category (General/OBC/SC/ST).

🎓 Eligibility Criteria for PET 2026

• Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed High School (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognized board. Candidates with higher qualifications (Intermediate, Graduation, etc.) are also eligible.
• Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
• Domicile: Candidates must be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh to claim reservation benefits; others will be considered under UR category.
• Important: Qualifying PET is mandatory for applying to any future Main Examination for Group 'C' posts under UPSSSC. However, merely appearing in PET does not confer any right to selection.

📖 Exam Pattern – PET 2026

• Total Questions: 100 (Objective Multiple Choice)
• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 2 Hours (120 minutes)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
• Difficulty Level: Up to Senior Secondary (10+2) level as per NCERT.
• Score Validity: 3 years from the date of result declaration.

🔐 One Time Registration (OTR) – Mandatory

• UPSSSC has introduced One Time Registration (OTR) system from 14 July 2026. It is mandatory for all candidates to complete OTR before applying for PET 2026.
• Candidates who have already registered with OTR can use their OTR number to apply for PET. New candidates must first complete OTR at upsssc.gov.in.
• Details filled in OTR will auto‑populate in the PET application. Candidates must ensure all OTR details are correct before applying.
• Modification in OTR is allowed only before submitting the PET application. After PET registration, OTR changes will not reflect in the PET application.
• For candidates who registered using PET‑2025 registration number, their Name, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number are non‑modifiable. Other fields can be changed.

📝 How to Apply Online – UPSSSC PET 2026

• Step 1: Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on upsssc.gov.in if not already done.
• Step 2: Log in to the UPSSSC website using your OTR number or registered mobile number. Verify through OTP.
• Step 3: Click on the advertisement for Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 (Advt. No. 16-Exam/2026).
• Step 4: Your personal details (name, DOB, category, address, etc.) will be auto‑filled from OTR. Verify and update if necessary.
• Step 5: Fill additional details: educational qualification (High School or higher), marital status, EWS (if applicable), state government employee status, freedom fighter dependent, ex‑serviceman, outstanding sportsperson, disability category, and any additional age relaxation claim.
• Step 6: Upload your latest colour photograph (50–100 KB, JPEG/JPG) and signature (30–50 KB, JPEG/JPG) if not already present in OTR.
• Step 7: Review the declaration and submit the application to generate a Registration Slip with an 11‑digit Registration Number.
• Step 8: Proceed to pay the application fee through SBI MOPS (Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or SBI E‑Challan).
• Step 9: After successful payment, download and print the final Application Form. Keep it safe for future reference.
• Correction: If any error is found, candidates can modify allowed fields through the "Modify Submitted Application" option on the website up to 08 September 2026.

⚠️ Important Instructions

• Admit Card: Will be issued online only. Candidates must download and carry two printed copies to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport, etc.).
• Biometric Verification: May be done at the examination centres. Candidates must reach well in advance.
• Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, electronic gadgets, textual material, bits of paper, etc., are strictly prohibited. Possession leads to cancellation.
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.
• Validity of PET Score: The score card is valid for 3 years from the date of result declaration. It will be used for shortlisting in future Main Examinations.
• Reservation: SC/ST/OBC/EWS/DFF/ESM/PwD as per UP Government rules. Candidates must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format at the time of document verification.
• EWS: Certificate must be issued between 01 April 2026 and 01 September 2026 (based on income of FY 2025-26, valid for FY 2026-27).
• Ex‑Servicemen: Must have been discharged by the last date of application. They will get age relaxation and other benefits as per rules.
• Women candidates: Caste certificate from father’s side is valid for claiming reservation.
• False Information: Furnishing wrong information will lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations (up to 5 years).
• Multiple Applications: Only one application per candidate. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.
• Correction: Modification window is only up to 08 September 2026. No offline requests will be entertained.
