✨ Short Information : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the 22nd Edition of CTET September 2026 on 06 September 2026 (Sunday) (Paper I & Paper II). Online applications are invited from 11 May 2026 to 10 June 2026. Candidates aspiring to be teachers for Classes I-V (Primary) and Classes VI-VIII (Junior) can apply. 🎓 Eligibility Criteria (Minimum Qualifications as per NCTE)

Paper‑I (Classes I‑V)Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 2‑year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR 4‑year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR 2‑year Diploma in Education (Special Education). 5% relaxation for reserved categories as per norms.
Paper‑II (Classes VI‑VIII)Graduation and passed/appearing in 2‑year D.El.Ed OR B.Ed. (with 50% marks in Graduation/Post‑Graduation) OR 4‑year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR B.El.Ed. Also, candidates with B.Ed (Special Education) or 3‑year integrated B.Ed‑M.Ed (55% in PG) are eligible.

  • All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question carries 1 mark. No negative marking.
  • Qualifying marks: 60% (90 marks out of 150) for General/OBC/EWS; relaxation for SC/ST/PwD as per rules (but 60% is minimum pass).
  • Validity of CTET Certificate: Lifetime for all categories. No restriction on number of attempts.
  • Medium of question paper: Bilingual (Hindi & English) except for language papers which are in that language.

Note: Candidate must choose Language I (medium of instruction) and Language II (different from Language I) while applying. Language II will focus on comprehension and communication.

⚠️ Important Instructions (Official Notice)

  • No choice of examination city: The exam city will be allotted by CBSE on random basis. Request for change of city or date shall not be accepted.
  • Limited city slots: As per CBSE advisory, candidates are advised to apply early because city slots are limited and will be filled on first‑come‑first‑serve basis (though city choice is not available, early applicants may get preferred region).
  • Admit card will be available for download 2 days before the exam on ctet.nic.in. No physical copy will be sent.
  • Carry two coloured printouts of admit card and a valid original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License) to the exam centre.
  • Use of mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, or any electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited. Possession leads to cancellation of candidature.
  • OMR sheet must be filled with Blue/Black Ball Point Pen only. Use of pencil will result in rejection.
  • Correction window available from 15 to 18 June 2026 for limited fields (name, DOB, category, language, etc.). No corrections after that.
  • Biometric/Photo verification will be done at the centre; impersonation will lead to legal action and debarment.
📌 Special facility for PwD candidates: Scribe/Reader and compensatory time of 50 minutes will be provided to candidates with benchmark disabilities (blindness, locomotor disability both arms affected, cerebral palsy) and others with limitation in writing (subject to production of medical certificate).

  • Environmental Studies (Paper‑I): Family, food, shelter, water, travel, plants & animals, EVS pedagogy.
  • Mathematics & Science (Paper‑II): Number system, algebra, geometry, mensuration, science (food, materials, living world, electric current, natural phenomena).
  • Social Studies/Social Science (Paper‑II): History, geography, social & political life (Indian constitution, diversity, government).

📝 How to Apply Online – CTET September 2026

  • Step 1: Visit official CTET website: https://ctet.nic.in or CBSE website cbse.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Click on “Apply Online” and fill the registration form (State, Identification type, Name, DOB, Gender).
  • Step 3: Complete the application: select Paper (I / II / Both), choose two languages (Language I & II), category, disability status, educational qualification details, college name, address, mobile, email.
  • Step 4: Upload scanned recent colour photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, 10‑100 KB, JPG/JPEG) and signature (3.5 cm x 1.5 cm, 3‑30 KB).
  • Step 5: Pay fee online via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
  • Step 6: After successful payment, download and print the Confirmation Page. Keep it for future reference. Do not send it to CBSE.
  • Correction: If needed, use correction window 15‑18 June 2026 (limited changes).
